Explore Corrode, Valorant’s brand-new map

Riot Games has officially unveiled Corrode, the newest map for its popular tactical shooter, Valorant. Set to debut in today’s update alongside the launch of Act IV for the 2025 season, Corrode brings fresh strategic opportunities and a unique environment that’s already generating buzz within the community. With its distinctive layout and gameplay potential, Corrode may quickly rise to become a favorite among players.

Tactical Depth & Unique Visuals

From what has been seen so far, Corrode presents a wide variety of tactical options for players, allowing for creative approaches to both objectives and engagements with the enemy team. The map blends tight, claustrophobic passageways with more open, high-risk zones where a single misstep can leave players vulnerable from multiple angles. This contrast adds to the tension and excitement, making every round feel unpredictable and thrilling. Visually, Corrode carries a striking resemblance to a futuristic reimagining of the iconic Mont Saint-Michel, giving it a unique atmosphere that stands out among Valorant’s map lineup.

Corrode will be immediately available for competitive play upon release, with a temporary progression system designed to ease players into the map. For the first two weeks, losses will only reduce SC (Skill Credit) by 50%, while victories will still grant the full 100%. This system is intended to encourage players to explore and train on Corrode in a ranked environment without the usual fear of losing progress. Additionally, a special Corrode Velocity queue will be active from launch day until June 20th, offering an alternative way to experience the map with increased match frequency.

Gameplay & Improvements

Beyond the new map, the update introduces a range of gameplay updates and improvements. Agent abilities for Waylay, Reyna, Phoenix, and Neon have been adjusted for better balance, and several UI enhancements and bug fixes have been implemented. Riot has also taken another step toward bringing esports mode to consoles, marking significant progress in expanding competitive features across platforms.

Cosmetics

On the cosmetic side, the new Phaseguard collection arrives with stylish new skins for the Vandal, Outlaw, Ghost, Bulldog, and a new melee weapon, the Cleaver. The updated battle pass adds a range of new content, including the “5 Years: Eradicate all Radiants” player card, the Bonsai gun buddy, the ATLAS//CMD Vandal skin, and more, celebrating Valorant’s ongoing evolution and its fifth anniversary.
