These fronts function as passive income sources, but they’re not completely hands-off. A unique new mechanic called Heat tracks your illegal activities. The more money you launder or the more shady missions you complete, the more Heat you attract. High Heat levels will suspend your laundering efforts temporarily, forcing you to do legit jobs like actually washing cars, giving tourists helicopter rides, or tending your dispensary to cool things down.

This new balance of danger and discretion brings a Breaking Bad-style realism to the game and forces players to think strategically about how fast and how hard they push their illegal income.
