Atomic Heart 2 Revealed During Summer Game Fest

Mundfish announced today at Summer Game Fest that Atomic Heart 2 is actively in development. The studio also unveiled The CUBE, a new multiplayer RPG shooter set within the Atomic Heart universe.
During today’s Summer Game Fest event, Mundfish officially announced that the development of Atomic Heart 2 is well underway. The studio shared exciting news about continuing the franchise with this highly anticipated sequel. In addition, Mundfish unveiled The CUBE, a brand-new multiplayer RPG shooter that expands on the Atomic Heart universe, offering players an immersive and action-packed experience within this rich, futuristic world.
Regarding the story of this sequel, the trailer reveals that it is set in a world altered by alternate history. However, this time the events unfold on a global scale, with many surprises in store for players.
One significant gameplay change is that you will now be able to fight using both hands. Additionally, the special powers of your glove can be combined with the weapons you carry.
While the announcement of Atomic Heart 2 at Summer Game Fest was the world’s first reveal, the Russian studio Mundfish had already shared plans for a sequel just weeks after the original game’s release in an interview with Twisted Voxel. In fact, they had openly confirmed their participation in the event, which was highly anticipated by millions.
That said, we still need to wait before we can fully immerse ourselves again in this retro-futuristic world filled with humor and action. Although it’s confirmed the game will launch on PC and consoles, no official release date has been given yet, but it is expected sometime in 2026.
