Roblox Introduces Build, an AI-Powered Way to Create Games on Mobile
Roblox is making game creation more accessible with the introduction of Build, a new AI-powered creation experience that allows users to generate and publish games directly from the Roblox mobile app using simple text prompts.
Announced today, Build is designed to lower the barrier to game development, enabling creators of all experience levels to transform ideas into playable experiences without requiring traditional development skills.
Create Games from a Simple Prompt
At the heart of Build is a text-to-game workflow. Users simply describe the game they want to create, such as a cozy adventure set in a dense forest, and Build automatically generates a playable starting point.
Build uses AI to handle many of the core elements of game development, including gameplay mechanics, environments, characters, visual style, and audio. This allows creators to focus on refining their ideas rather than building every component from scratch.
Creators can immediately playtest their game, refine it, collaborate with friends, or publish it to Roblox.

Seamless Integration with Roblox Studio
Build extends the capabilities of Roblox Studio into the main Roblox app, allowing creators to move seamlessly between mobile and desktop development.
Both platforms share the same backend, AI models, and chat history, meaning projects started on mobile can later be expanded using Roblox Studio’s advanced development tools. Likewise, developers working in Studio can monitor AI-generated progress directly from their mobile devices.
New AI Agents to Streamline Development
Alongside Build, Roblox is introducing a suite of AI-powered development agents that automate time-consuming tasks for creators.
These upcoming tools include:
Playtesting Agent
Automatically identifies bugs before players encounter them.
Analytics Agent
Allows creators to ask questions about game performance using natural language, eliminating the need to navigate complex analytics dashboards.
Experiment Agent
Recommends and manages tests designed to improve player engagement, retention, and monetisation.

Expanding Creative Possibilities with AI
Build is part of Roblox’s wider investment in AI-powered creation tools. Recent innovations include Procedural Models, which generate editable 3D assets from text prompts or images, Cube, Roblox’s proprietary 3D foundation model that creates game-ready objects ranging from simple props to drivable vehicles, and an upcoming scene-generation model capable of producing entire editable and playable 3D environments from a single prompt.
Rollout and Availability
Build will enter public alpha testing in New Zealand on July 28 before gradually rolling out to additional creators and regions. During testing, the feature will be available to age-verified users aged 9 and above, while published games will be accessible globally to age-verified users aged 16 and older. All Build-created experiences will undergo Roblox’s existing safety review process and be ranked through the same discovery system as other games on the platform. A free version of Build will be available to all creators, with premium options planned for advanced users.

Roblox’s Vision for AI-Powered Creation
According to Vlad Loktev, Chief Creator Ecosystem Officer at Roblox, the new tools are intended to make game development accessible to everyone while helping experienced developers work more efficiently.
By combining AI-powered creation with Roblox’s existing ecosystem, the company aims to remove technical barriers between imagination and game development, allowing more creators to build experiences that can reach millions of players worldwide.
